No, not like a long, greasy, maned & fat disgusting slob Dev, just a more relaxed, less superficial, even softer Dev. Ugh, I always wondered what he’d look like with softer, less defined muscles under a layer of fat, and a soft belly covering that 8+pack like a retired athlete. I’ve always wanted to see a character that realized they not only have fur, but also have manes/hair that can be grown properly LONG. If I was Dev, I’d have a mane 3-4x as long. My own manly mane irl is down to my waist.

If it gets to a point your self esteem hinges mostly on your appearance that’s even worse. Nothing wrong with being a bit thicc if you’re healthy. Dudes can and should try letting their manes grow longer the their norm. Don’t know till you try, and if you hate it, donate it!¡! I did, but I ended up liking it better than the short styles I had for nearly 25yrs. I donated 22in, grew it right back, and even longer. Now down to my waist and I get only compliments from men and women alike. It’s actually men who are the most curious about it and want to try it out for themselves.

Honestly I dont like this guy. He seems like bad news. I understand staying away from stressful things like the news. But running from the cops. Making dev baby sit him. Living while hes stressed and acting like its his “self discovery journey” while mooching off others. Making his stuff other peoples problems getting everything good and nothing bad and seeing no issue with it. Ive seen enough of that attitude for a red flag to be popping up

Cmon I honestly don’t think Jake is so bad, I kinda like him he’s cool and chill, and he could have gone missing because he’s said it himself he’s being blackmailed that’s why the cops are after him, and he brought Dev fast food as a way to support Dev he may be lazy but he’s a chill guy, and he’s doing his best to be there for Dev he seem like a cool dude so far, just messy, (and hot) we should wait till a few more episodes and get to know him more before we judge him straight away.

I think that he’s not malicious and does want to do right by Dev, but he doesn’t see that what he’s doing (overcorrecting drastically from a different unhealthy lifestyle into a different unhealthy lifestyle) is hurting Dev. I tentatively don’t like him as he is now (as a person, not a a character, as a character he is very well written and a magnificent foil to Dev), but I also am reserving most of my judgement until we see how he reacts to being pushed to grow. I think he’ll probably take that push and use it to become a better person, but we’ll have to wait and see

I think it might be a complicated path forwards because they both represent opposite ends of the same spectrum taken to an unhealthy extent. Whether Dev gets the nudge to change his mindset and try to get to a healthier place, or whether he overcorrects and winds up just as excessively lackadaisical as his friend will make all the difference. It is also possible that Dev, feeling the push to change, locks up and doubles down on his current lifestyle, but tbh that seems out of character for Dev and the authors, and I highly doubt Red and the rest of them would allow that to happen
