Nah. 1st rule of falling in love or enjoying life is giving up the illusion of control. You can’t make someone like you, or force a relationship to work. All you can do is try to be a good person, show some intrest without being a creep and hope it works out.
If it wasn’t meant to be, learn from the experience, lick your wounds for a week or two and then move on.
The love of your life is *always* in your future! If you are lucky, they share a lot of your past too, but don’t take that for granted.

I came to the acceptance stage already and accept that love just wasn’t for me. I’m more focused on trying to keep a job and stay afloat now in these uncertain times.

But your last sentance baffles me. You think they are incompatible? My point is giving up the illusion of control is a *requirement* for finding and keeping a lover.
If you meet someone you *really* like, you want something from them. The awful truth is they don’t need anything from you. They are in control, at that moment. Worse, as soon as you show interest you make yourself vulnerable. That’s terrifying!
